Rebels OMCG Member Arrested - Assault - Leanyer

Officers from the Drug and Organised Crime Division Gangs Task Force have arrested a 46-year-old male in relation to an assault, Northern Territory Police say.

The male, who is a full patch member of the Rebels OMCG, was arrested yesterday following the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Leanyer.

The arrest follows an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred on 9 August 2018 in Yarrawonga.

Detective Sergeant Evan Kelly from the Gangs Task Force stated "These outlaw motorcycle gangs represent a significant threat to the community"

"Many of their members are involved in acts of violence which often goes unreported. This is the sixth member of the same outlaw motor cycle gang arrested in the past two years for serious violence offences"

"The Northern Territory Police Gangs Task Force will continue to detect, disrupt and dismantle organised crime and violence carried out by these gangs."

The male has been bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 28 August.
