The Albanese Government is backing Australia's high-performance athletes and sports now and into the future with another record-breaking investment of $513 million.

This continues the Albanese Government's commitment to ensuring Australia's success through the six-year runway to Brisbane 2032 and beyond.

It will provide ongoing support for Olympians, Paralympians and Commonwealth Games athletes, and bolster sports to build and grow the heroes of Brisbane 2032.

Individual athletes will receive grants through the dAIS program, with a record $42.8m allocated to help with daily living and training expenses.

The package also includes record funding for Winter sports ahead of the French Alps 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The funding continues the Albanese Government's historic Para Uplift investment, which has uncovered more than 150 new Para athletes in its first 12 months and established Para sport units in every state and territory.

It means stability for Australia's elite talent, through a focus on retaining key coaches and support staff and continues the Women Leaders in Sport (WLIS) program for a further two years.

The record investment includes:

  • 68 sport programs receiving high performance funding over the next two years
  • Continuation of direct athlete support (dAIS) with $42.8m to assist with daily living expenses
  • Historic increase for Australia's Winter Olympians and Paralympians with Curling Australia, Biathlon Australia, and Ice Racing Australia all receiving high performance funding for the first time.
  • Additional one-off grants to Netball Australia, Bowls Australia and five Winter sports ahead of the Commonwealth Games and Winter Games.
