- More than $500,000 awarded in latest round of Horizon Power's Community Partnerships Program
- 72 community initiatives will benefit from partnerships of up to $50,000
- Over 560 community organisations and initiatives have benefited from targeted support since 2020, making a positive difference in regional Western Australia
The Cook Government, through Horizon Power's Community Partnerships Program has awarded a further $500,000 to support 72 community initiatives across regional Western Australia.
Horizon Power's Community Partnerships Program has awarded a further $546,300 in funding to support community organisations and events through regional and remote Western Australia.
Since 2020, the program has delivered more than $5 million in funding to support more than 560 initiatives across the State's regional and remote communities.
This latest round of partnerships will support regional sporting associations, cultural and music events, and arts and educational programs for school-aged children.
It will help build capacity in regional and remote WA organisations and create vibrancy in the local communities across the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Mid West, Goldfields and Esperance regions.
Successful recipients include Broome-based arts organisation, Marrugeku, for the delivery of their Cut the Sky video installation across the Kimberley, Pilbara Community Men's Shed for upgrades to their Karratha facilities and St John Ambulance for their Warnkarunku Wellbeing Walkabout Day in Leonora.
The program will also support a number of cross regional and major events including the Shire of Shark Bay's annual Beats in the Bay, Spinifex Spree in Port Hedland, Winter Wonderland in Esperance and the Boab Festival in Derby.
The State Government, through Horizon Power's Community Partnerships Program, provides $1.1 million each financial year to support regional community initiatives and events.
The Community Partnerships Programprovides funding support up to $50,000, per partnership, to organisations delivering health and wellbeing outcomes in their communities, in the regional energy provider's service area.
Applications for Horizon Power's next round of Community Partnerships will open mid-July 2025.
