This year marks 25 years since the establishment of the Australian Research Council (ARC).
For a quarter of a century, the ARC has invested in excellent Australian research through the National Competitive Grants Program, supporting more than 38,000 researchers, funding over 34,000 projects and investing more than $14 billion in research and innovation.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are also looking ahead.
Today the Minister for Education, the Hon Jason Clare MP officially launched the ARC Strategy 2026-2035 , which sets our direction for the decade ahead and outlines our vision: Advancing Australia through the power of research.
The Strategy recognises the vital role of research in driving discovery, informing decision-making, building national capability and supporting long-term innovation for Australia's benefit.
