Renewed appeal for information into stabbing and assault at Penrith

Police have released images and footage as they appeal for public assistance about the stabbing and serious assault of a teen in Sydney's west in May.

About 11.50pm (Saturday 1 May 2021), emergency services responded to reports of a brawl in a car park on Mulgoa Road, near the intersection of Jamison Road, Penrith.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command found a teenager with serious injuries.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to the Westmead Hospital with a lacerated liver, facial fractures and lacerations, but has since been released.

A crime scene was established with Strike Force Quiomong formed to investigate the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released images and footage of a two people they believe may be able to assist with their investigations.

The male is wearing a grey hooded jumper, black pants or jeans and white shoes. He is believed to be holding a baseball bat and is shown getting into a small hatchback, before leaving the scene.

The female is wearing a black skirt or shorts, a white top and white shoes.

Police have also released an image of a white 4WD utility with a flat back silver tray, and a black snorkel, black mag wheels, black door handles and a black stripe on the side.

The first two characters of the vehicle's registration are 1Q.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, or information about the vehicle, to contact Nepean Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
