Repeat Offender Arrested by Alice Springs Police

Northern Territory Police have successfully apprehended a recidivist offender who breached bail conditions and attempted to abscond from police.

The 13-year-old known recidivist offender breached his bail conditions after he allegedly damaged and removed his electronic monitoring device earlier this week. The breach was reported to police, and a search operation to locate him was initiated.

Yesterday evening, police received information about the youth's whereabouts and began door-knocking. Upon knocking on the front door of a residence in Gillen, the occupants indicated that he had fled out the back, a confirmation made by the Police drone unit.

Officers entered the backyard, where they successfully located the offender under a large tree. He was apprehended without further incident and subsequently conveyed to the Alice Springs Watch House.

He will face additional charges related to the breach of bail conditions and removing the Electronic Monitoring Device.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said, "Police want to emphasise that the safety of our community is our top priority, and we will use all available resources to prevent criminal activities."
