Research on Teacher Education is Finalist in Awards

Australian Catholic University leads a major national research and development initiative to enable digital innovation at scale in teacher education.

This initiative within ACU's Institute for Learning Science and Teacher Education (ILSTE) is now a 2020 Finalist in the AFR Higher Education Awards (Education Technology).

To show the profession readiness of teaching graduates for the nation's classrooms, the purpose-designed digital platform is called Evidence for Quality in Initial Teacher Education (EQuITE). This draws on data from the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA).

The benefits of the research will be to improve the quality and impact of teacher education through collaboration with 15 higher education institutes, the use of digital infrastructure, data and visualisation methods. The research team is led by Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith. Congratulations to the GTPA research team at ILSTE for their innovative application of education technology in their research.
