Research Reveals Impact of Activity Centers on Bayside Suburbs

The Victorian Government has finalised planning controls for four Bayside Activity Centre precincts, which could have a significant impact on the liveability of our suburbs.

Four key precincts in Bayside have been identified by the Victorian Government for future housing growth and renewal as part of the expanded Activity Centre Program. This includes:

  • North Brighton Station (Bay Street),
  • Middle Brighton Station (Church Street)
  • Hampton Station (Hampton Street),
  • Sandringham Station (Sandringham Village).

Below are indicative videos of the four key precincts which show how building height limits have increased to their maximum allowance due to the changes.

Disclaimer: The videos are indicative and only to show what the area could look like if every building was built to the maximum approved height. The videos do not reflect all the planning controls that have come into effect. There are many variations and combinations to respond to the planning controls that could lead to different outcomes.

We are committed to sharing information about the proposed Activity Centre changes to keep our community informed.
