Residents invited to join Community Focus Groups

Wingecarribee Shire

Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from a diverse range of residents to discuss community priorities for the Shire and how residents can be actively involved in Council's decision-making processes.

Three general Focus Groups will be held to refresh Council's current Community Strategic Plan and Community Engagement Strategy.

Council's Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing Carmel Foster outlined the purpose of the focus groups.

"A lot has changed over the last five years at Council and across the Shire since the development of the current Community Strategic Plan," she said.

"In collaboration with residents, Council wants to review the priorities of our current Community Strategic Plan and identify any gaps or opportunities that may have arisen over the past few years.

"We'll also look at our Community Engagement Strategy and ask participants how we can improve how we communicate and engage with our community on future Council projects and initiatives."

The three focus groups are open to any members of the community.

"Ideally we'd love to receive a broad cross-section of people from across the Shire," Ms Foster added.

General Focus Groups will be held at the following locations:
