Retzius-sparing prostate surgery can improve the recovery of urinary continence

Surgery to treat localised prostate cancer has high success rates, but this isn't the end of the story. Side effects, such as urinary incontinence, mean that surgical techniques can still be improved. Retzius-sparing prostate surgery is a modification of the standard robotic surgery that aims to improve urinary continence. Two recent publications indicate that this technique is safe and may improve urinary function in the short term.
