Transperth has travel arrangements covered for everybody celebrating on New Year's Eve, with extra services and a free ride home after midnight.
Travel on all Transperth services will be free for everyone, including cash ticket users, between midnight and 6am on New Year's Day to help those out celebrating to get home safely. There will be no need to tag on or off.
Extra train services will be added to the network, with all lines running through the night on 31 December into New Year's Day.
Bus services will operate to and from Perth CBD, Northbridge, Fremantle, Scarborough Beach and Rockingham Beach. Extra buses on selected routes will run either side of midnight.
The Surf CAT will run additional trips after midnight, while the Perth and Joondalup CAT buses will run on the regular weekday timetable.
Ferries will operate before and after midnight with the last ferry departing from Elizabeth Quay Jetty at 2am and Mends Street Jetty at 2.15am.
Those intending to use public transport are encouraged to plan their journeys on the Transperth website or through the Transperth app.
As stated by Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:
"We've put on extra Transperth services to help you get to and from your celebrations this New Years Eve.
"Our train and bus networks are the most comprehensive they have ever been thanks to METRONET, so it's easier than ever to jump on public transport.
"Even better, services post-midnight will be free for all users, making Transperth the best transport option this New Year."
