RMIT University has earned business accreditation from AACSB International (AACSB), further cementing its College of Business and Law (CoBL) as a leading business school in Australia and the region.
With this achievement, RMIT in Australia joins the ranks of other top business schools in Australia.
The Business School at RMIT Vietnam - one of CoBL's five schools - becomes the first AACSB accredited business school in Vietnam.
AACSB accreditation is a globally recognised standard of excellence for business schools. It signifies a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and high-quality business education.
CoBL was commended by the AACSB for the collaborative, professional, and sophisticated development of its CoBL 31 mission and strategic direction and associated strategy implementation. The additional support for the College's strategy and ambitions by the University through the funding of innovation grants was acknowledged.
Authentic, applied and academic (AAA) learning pedagogy, the synthesised global relationship between Melbourne and Vietnam, and innovation and uplift of CoBL's degree programs and the implementation of new programs and course offerings with technology and social impact were specifically highlighted by the AACSB as placing CoBL at the leading edge of business education.
RMIT Deputy Vice Chancellor College of Business and Law Professor Colin Picker said the accreditation recognises RMIT's deep understanding of business and technology.
"AACSB accreditation recognises the incredible work of staff at all levels of the College as we continue to position our deep strength in understanding the intersection of technology and business and law at the forefront of everything we do," he said.
"We look forward to joining the AACSB community and to contributing our expertise towards the future of business education and research in Australia and internationally."
Stephanie M. Bryant, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB congratulated RMIT.
"We congratulate RMIT University and Deputy Vice-Chancellor [Business and Law] Colin Picker on earning accreditation and applaud the entire team, including the administration, faculty, staff, and students, for their roles in earning this respected honour," said Bryant.
"RMIT University's commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication-not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole. Today's students are tomorrow's business leaders, and the addition of RMIT University to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally."
Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools and the largest business education network connecting learners, educators, and businesses worldwide.
