Council is continuing its investment in maintaining safer and more reliable local roads with upcoming resurfacing works on Union Street in Kilmore.
The project is part of Council's annual road maintenance program and will help extend the life of the road surface and improve driving conditions for residents and visitors.
What's happening?
Resurfacing works will take place on Union Street between 16 Union Street and the Northern Highway intersection.
The project will:
- Replace the existing surface with a new asphalt treatment to improve durability and safety
- Prevent water damage that can lead to potholes
- Maintain smooth and accessible connections for local residents and businesses
When?
Works are scheduled to take place from Thursday 2 October to Monday 6 October (excluding Saturday and Sunday and weather permitting). Working hours will be 7am to 5pm.
Impacts
- Union Street will be closed for the duration of works between 16 Union Street and the Northern Highway intersection.
- Access will be maintained for Union Street, Chapel Street and Melbourne Street residents with the assistance of traffic management staff, although short delays are expected.
- Vehicles will not be permitted to park on Union Street during the works.
- Detours and traffic management will be in place. Please follow signage and directions from on-site staff.
- Please also ensure members of your household, particularly children and animals, are kept well clear of the work area.
