Road Safety Mock Roadway Damaged

Police are investigating damage to the mock roadway at the Road Safety Centre, Bonython Park, Adelaide, on the weekend.

The damage was discovered on Monday morning by SAPOL's road safety educators.

Numerous electrical pits on the mock roadway had been accessed and electrical cables cut.

The mock roadway is now without power, which is essential for the daily use of the track to educate children on road safety.

It is unclear how long before power will be restored to the site.

Anyone bringing a child to the mock roadway is advised that traffic lights and pedestrian, school and railway crossings are affected.

Road safety educators will be in contact with any schools and community groups with bookings to discuss their sessions.

Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist in identifying the person/s responsible for the damage can report it to Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000.
