When we spoke with one of the winners, she revealed the group had been sharing an entry together for about a year.
"I'm very good now!" she laughed.
"This is a syndicate, and it's a group of four of us so we'll be splitting evenly with each other! We're all over the moon.
"I've been playing lotto for a while now, but we only started this syndicate around a year ago.
"I said to the other three, 'Well, I don't need to buy you Christmas presents now!'.
"It's funny because we were even talking about Christmas plans and someone suggested we go out, but I said, 'No, that'll be too expensive!'. Now we can do whatever we want and splurge!
"Usually, I'm very happy to win a small amount that I can use on my next ticket, but this is incredible.
"I finally had a good night's sleep last night after barely sleeping a wink after checking the ticket.
"Thank you so much! You always hope to win but actually winning is something else!" she exclaimed.
They purchased their winning entry from Wandal News, 17 Wandal Road, Rockhampton.
Wandal News owner Terry Robinson said he was thrilled to be a part of someone's thrilling win just in time for Christmas and New Years.
"We're so happy that multiple people are going to have a wonderful Christmas with this life-changing win," he said.
"We've been here for 29 years, and we've sold four top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets and this is our 10th division one win.
"We've been letting everyone know the good news. Here's to another winner soon!"
