Rossys Creek Bridge reopen to traffic

Rossys Creek Bridge on Corrowong Road west of Delegate has reopened to traffic today thanks to the efforts of Council's roads team and engineers.

Due to the ongoing wet weather the road surface over the bridge has not yet been sealed and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place until the weather improves and the sealing work can be completed.

Once the road surface has been sealed, there will be no additional load or speed restrictions on the bridge - everything will be back to normal.

The bridge was closed in November 2021 following weeks of heavy rain causing severe damage and leaving the bridge unsafe for any traffic.

Following an engineering inspection, urgent repair work to fix the failed abutment and collapsed road surface on Rossys Creek Bridge began as soon as weather conditions allowed. These repairs have now been completed and the bridge is now open to traffic.

The detour along Browns Camp Road diverting traffic along the only route around the bridge is no longer in effect.

Council is grateful to the Corrowong Road community for their patience and understanding during the closure.
