Running man arrested Globe Derby Park, South Australia

A man has been arrested after crashing a car at Mawson Lakes and being tracked to Globe Derby Park this afternoon.

Just after 1pm on Monday 18 November, Northern District patrols spotted a black BMW travelling on east on Yorktown Road at Elizabeth Park. The car sped away and patrols lost sight of the vehicle.

About 15 minutes later police received a phone call from a member of the public advising a black BMW had collided into a curb and come to a stop on Elder Smith Road at Mawson Lakes. The driver allegedly ran from the car and into nearby wetlands.

Patrols were quickly on scene and set up cordons with the assistance of Police Dog Bandit, the suspect was tracked to Globe Derby Park.

Just after 2.30pm the 32-year-old man was located by STAR group officer at the northern end of Ryans Road and arrested without incident. The Modbury Heights man was arrested on an active warrant and is expected to be charged with driving offences.
