Rural community reminded to keep property secure as summer approaches

As stated by Sergeant Scott McConachie, Prevention Coordinator, Invercargill Police

Southland Police are reminding the rural community to keep their property secure as summer approaches.

Recently, there have been a number of burglaries reported in rural Southland, and with the increase in daylight hours and farmers tied up with calving, lambing and milking it is an opportune time for criminals to take advantage.

It is important that members of our community look out for one another, and let Police know if anything or anyone looks out of place.
