September is Rural Road Safety Month. The Australian Road Safety Foundation is calling on Shoalhaven drivers to take care on local roads as part of the national awareness campaign.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley is encouraging the community to take part in the campaign this month.
"Unfortunately, with rural road crashes accounting for 65% of the Australian road toll, road safety is a community issue, and it is on all of us to minimise the risk of crashes to save lives", Clr Findley said.
"There are many ways to get involved: from changing behaviour on and around the road, to hosting an event in your local community, school or workplace," Clr Findley said.
From 1-30 September the Australian Road Safety Foundation is inviting the community to:
