It's been a big summer for the Spirit of Tasmania with more than 320,000 passengers traveling on Bass Strait.
With the new Spirits to be sailing later this year, the next summer is set to be even more exciting.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Kerry Vincent, said this is a strong run into summer.
"Spirits IV and V are safely in Australian waters, and they look magnificent," Minister Vincent said.
"These new ships are going to turbo-charge this upcoming summer season, and the industry is getting ready.
"The vessels mark a new era and a generational investment in Tasmania's future, bringing increased capacity and improved comfort for Bass Strait travel.
"It is anticipated that each vessel will serve Tasmania for more than 25 years – delivering long-term growth in tourism, freight and employment.
"This can give operators and businesses the confidence to implement their long-term plans so they can be prepared to maximise the opportunity at hand."
Work at Berth 3 is progressing well with the 700-tonne gantry nearing completion and the final pieces of the gantry structure now installed.
"Construction work is progressing well, with the 700-tonne gantry nearing completion," Minister Vincent said.
"TT-Line is planning to bring both ships down to Devonport in August and test the gantry for first sailings in October.
"By delivering key infrastructure like this we're preparing the entire state for a strong future.
"I want to congratulate everyone on their efforts to build this iconic gateway into our state."
