Sayers Road rehabilitation complete

Wyndham City has completed one of its biggest roads projects for 2022 - a $5 million rehabilitation of Sayers Road between Tarneit Road and Reflections Boulevard.

The Sayers Road rehabilitation has involved the removal, recycling and replacement of 1.4 kilometres of road pavement, new asphalt surfacing, localised kerb and channel repair and minor drainage repairs.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Susan McIntyre, said the project has made Sayers Road smoother, safer and more enjoyable for motorists to use.

"Improving local roads is an ongoing priority for Council and it is essential that our roads are regularly assessed and maintained to improve traffic flow and keep Wyndham moving safely," Cr McIntyre said.

"As one of the main arterial roads that connects Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina and Williams Landing, it's important that Sayers Road is in first class condition for all road users - and this rehabilitation has done just that."

"The Sayers Road rehabilitation was one of Council's largest road projects this year and forms part of Wyndham City's $32.2 million commitment to build, upgrade and maintain our road network over 2022/23."

"Earlier this year we also completed a $5 million rehabilitation of Sneydes Road between Hacketts Road and Lennon Boulevard."

"Meanwhile, we've awarded the construction tender for the first two packages of Wyndham City's $8.9 million Road Reconstructions Program, which will rebuild various local roads throughout Wyndham over 2022/23 to improve road safety."
