School bus driver issued infringement after crash at Orange

A school bus driver has been issued an infringement notice following a crash in the state's Central West yesterday.

About 3:30pm (Monday 15 February 2021), emergency services were called to Bathurst Road, near the intersection of Glenroi Avenue, Bathurst, following reports of a collision between a school bus and a truck, both travelling west.

About 30 children were on the bus at the time.

Two girls – aged eight and 14 – were treated for minor injuries and taken to Orange Health Service.

The truck driver, a 50-year-old man, was uninjured.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the bus driver, a 35-year-old man, was issued an infringement notice for drive behind other vehicle too closely to stop safely.
