More than 5000 students from 153 schools are taking part in the Tasmanian Schools Triathlon Challenge held over four days in Devonport and Hobart.
The event promotes an active and healthy lifestyle, and provides a pathway for students to become engaged in physical activity and the opportunity to take on a personal fitness challenge.
The challenge features individual and team events for primary and secondary students, from both state and independent schools.
This year sees the return of the event in Devonport on the 24th and 25th of November and Hobart on the 9th and 10th of December after it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.
As part of the challenge, students are encouraged to raise funds to help young people diagnosed with diabetes better manage their condition.
I'd like to congratulate the students who have collectively raised $2,654 for Diabetes Tasmania so far this year as a part of the event.
