Scoresby Carjacking Attempt Leads to Arrests

Knox Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested two males in relation to an attempted carjacking yesterday, 22 March.

A truck was parked near a fast-food restaurant at a service station on the Eastlink Freeway about 12pm.

Two males, a 30-year-old and 32-year-old from Hoppers Crossing, got out of the truck and one of them went to collect food.

It is alleged a red Subaru sedan pulled up alongside the van, where two male occupants got out and demanded keys from the truck driver, then assaulted him when he refused to hand them over.

There were no serious injuries.

The two offenders fled in the Subaru southbound on the Eastlink.

Today two men were arrested in Heathmont.

A 20-year-old Heathmont man and an 18-year-old Carrum Downs man are assisting police with their enquiries.
