Search And Rescue Operation At Stonehenge

Police have commenced a search and rescue operation for a 59-year-old man after a vehicle was located abandoned near Stonehenge on 4 October, 2026.

A man mustering in the area alerted police to the vehicle, which was abandoned in a dry floodway, one kilometre off the road.

Initial investigations indicate the vehicle had previously sustained flood damage and had not moved in some time.

Police immediately commenced investigations which revealed the owner, Craig Michael Trethewey (pictured) was last seen driving the vehicle, a purple Honda Jazz bearing Qld Registration 832AT5 around 8.15am on 7 March 2025. He has not been heard from since.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare.

Police are appealing for Craig, or anyone with information that may assist in locating him, to come forward.
