Detectives from Box Hill Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Box Hill earlier this month, Victoria Police say.
The woman walking on Surrey Drive about 9-9.30pm on Friday 7 December.
She was approached from behind by an unknown man, who then sexually assaulted her.
He was last seen walking away from the victim, east on Kent Street.
The man is perceived to be Caucasian, between 30-40 years old, described as 160cms tall and was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap with a short peak and a dark coloured jacket.
Investigators have released a face fit image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
