Second man charged after fatal Dandenong shooting

Detectives from Taskforce Sector have charged a second man following the fatal shooting of Mitat Rasimi in Dandenong last year.

A 27-year-old Dandenong man was arrested in Springvale just after 4pm today.

He was subsequently interviewed by police and charged with one count of murder.

The man will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court in the morning.

Detectives also executed warrants at properties in Dandenong and Endeavour Hills as part of today's operation.

In November, police charged a 25-year-old Hampton Park man with one count of murder and firearms offences.

He is currently remanded and due to appear again at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on the 9th of April, 2020.

Mitat Rasimi had been driving a car at the time of his murder and was found by police, unresponsive and with a number of gunshot wounds, crashed into a pole in Dawn Avenue on 3 March, 2019.
