Second Suspect Charged in Blacktown Murder

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a second man with murder after a fatal shooting in Sydney's west last week.

About 11.50am on Friday 28 November 2025, police were called to Carinya Street, Blacktown, following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene.

At the same time, police attempted to stop a Mazda utility that was seen leaving the scene.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit was terminated a short time later when the vehicle crashed on Kildare Road.

Two men - aged 18 and 25 - allegedly exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. They were arrested a short time later and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

Police established a crime scene and detectives attached to the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad took carriage of the matter under Strike Force Depew.

The 25-year-old man was later taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 18-year-old man has been charged and remains before the courts.

Following his discharge from hospital, the 25-year-old man was taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with murder, use etc offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention etc, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court tomorrow (Monday 1 December 2025).
