A second person has been charged after a business was targeted in an alleged firebombing in Concord earlier this month.
About 11.10pm on Monday 15 June 2026, emergency services were called to a business on Concord Road, Concord West, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended and found a device had been allegedly detonated causing damage to the outside of the business.
There were no reports of injuries and the fire self-extinguished.
Police established a crime scene and seized large amounts of shrapnel and items believed to have been used in the construction of the improvised explosive device (IED) for forensic examination.
Detectives attached to Burwood Police Area Command established Strike Force Alchemy to investigate the firebombing.
Following extensive inquiries, about 6am today (Wednesday 24 June 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad and State Crime Command's Raptor Squad – executed two search warrants at homes in Padstow and Bardia.
During the search warrants, strike force detectives located and seized two IEDs, an Audi SUV – believed to have been used in the incident – electronic devices, and personal items.
Following the searches, a 29-year-old man was arrested at the Padstow address and taken to Bankstown Police Station. He remains before the courts.
A short time later, a 31-year-old woman was arrested after police located and seized a large amount of peptides at the Bardia address.
The 31-year-old was taken to Liverpool Police Station where she was charged with possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.
The woman was refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 24 June 2026).
Investigations under Strike Force Alchemy inquiries continue.
