Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly. Secretary Blinken discussed the threat of a further Russian invasion of Ukraine and the importance of working with our allies and partners to impose swift, severe costs on Russia in response to any further military aggression by Russia against Ukraine. Secretary Blinken also reiterated U.S. appreciation to Canada for hosting the January ministerial meeting on Haiti. He underscored the importance of the international community contributing to Haiti's efforts to improve security and encouraging a Haitian-led process to reach agreement on a political path forward.
