Seeking Public Input on Stan Thompson Reserve Playground

Children playing in a sand pit

Council is developing a concept design for upgrade of the play space at Stan Thompson Reserve in Brunswick Heads.

Stan Thompson Reserve has two large ovals used for cricket, rugby union, and AFL. There is also a skatepark which is a popular haunt for keen skaters.

The current children's play space is old and Council is designing a new family inclusive space.

"We are focusing on creating an area for children between the ages of two to six and it's important that what we put in reflects the wishes of the community," Jim Roberts, Coordinator Open Spaces, said.

"We are hoping that people who have young children in their lives can tell us whether their little ones like creative and imaginative play, climbing, spinning or swinging," Mr Roberts said.

Interested people can see examples of different types of play equipment and provide feedback at New playspace coming to Stan Thompson Reserve on Council's website.

The closing date for feedback is 26 May 2024.
