Sell and supply drug arrest, WA

In December 2016 West Pilbara Detectives commenced an extensive investigation named Operation Torricelli in relation to the sale and supply of illicit drugs in and around the Karratha area.

Detectives with the assistance of officers from Karratha Police and Pilbara Traffic conducted a vehicle stop on Tuesday 28 February 2017. The vehicle was travelling along the Great Northern Highway heading towards Karratha. The vehicle was searched by officers and a drug detection dog, WA Police say.

It will be alleged during the search police located and seized various prohibited drug items including approximately 165 grams of Methylamphetamine, approximately two kilos of Cannabis and over $11,000 in cash.

Police also executed two Misuse of Drug search warrants at a home in Bulgarra and a business premise in Karratha where it is further alleged they located and seized approximately 13 grams of Methylamphetamine and $80,000 in cash at the two locations.

A 54 year old man from Bulgarra has been charged with two counts of Possess Prohibited Drug with Intent to Sell/Supply and Unlawful Possession (cash).

He is due to appear before the Karratha Magistrates Court today, 1 March 2017.
