Senior member of Bandidos OMCG charged over alleged firearm and drug possession, NSW

A senior member of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) will face court today after Strike Force Raptor seized drugs and a shotgun during a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search in Western Sydney last year.

As part of ongoing targeting of the illicit activities of OMCG and suppressing violent acts, Strike Force Raptor served an FPO on a then 28-year-old man at a home at St Clair on Saturday 3 November 2018.

During a subsequent search of the home, police seized various prescription medications, ammunition, and a gun safe.

The safe was later opened at a police facility and contained a disassembled 12-guage shotgun, ammunition, and documentation.

The firearm has been forensically examined and is now undergoing ballistic examination.

Following further inquiries, the man, now aged 29, was arrested by Strike Force Raptor at St Marys Police Station about 12.30pm yesterday (Sunday 6 January 2019).

He was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition, not keep firearm stored safely, possess prohibited drug and intimidate police officer.

Police will also allege in court that the man attended St Marys Police Station last Thursday (3 January 2019), and made threats against a police officer.

The man, who is a senior member of the local chapter of Bandidos OMCG, was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Monday 7 January 2019).
