Several Business Burglaries Targeting Cigarettes Under Investigation

Detectives from Bellerive CIB are investigating multiple business burglaries on the Eastern Shore this week, primarily targeting cigarettes.

Shortly after 4am on Monday, a bottle shop in Howrah was entered and a large quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

Shortly after 4am on Wednesday, a bottle shop in Sorell was entered and a significant amount of cigarettes and alcohol was stolen.

A stolen Nissan Maxima was reportedly involved, and was later located burnt out on Colebrook Road at Richmond.

Around 3:40 this morning, a service station in Rosny Park was entered and again, a significant quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

"If you have any information that could assist police, or if you are aware of someone with large amounts of cigarettes in their possession, we urge you to contact us," said Detective Sergeant Josh Wood.

"You can remain anonymous."
