Sharing love on Library Lovers Day

Kempsey Shire Council

Library Lovers' Day is celebrated on 14 February each year to honour libraries, librarians, book lovers, and lovers of libraries.

On Library Lovers' Day, we celebrate the importance of a library for the community. We might all not receive flowers on Valentine's Day, but everyone is welcome at their library!

Your local library supports education and literacy outcomes, provides access to important services, offers free community events and a space for fun and special social connections.

Today many visitors to Kempsey Library shared their love for their library - what it means to them and how important it is for them.

Many comments were left on the Library Lovers message board including these ones.

'We love the library because of the most beautiful ladies and beautiful space.'

'1st prize library they continue to feed my addiction to books!'

'Beautiful staff. So helpful, lovely atmosphere.'

'The ladies who work here are always so friendly and willing to lend a hand and that makes all the difference.'

'I love all the blue books, they are poetry.'

'Loving the beautiful staff.'

Thank you to everyone who made it a date to come into their library today. Our Library Staff are feeling very grateful for all the love.
