Shellharbour City Council has endorsed an exciting and diverse 2026-27 Events Calendar, offering residents and visitors a year filled with spirited celebrations, cultural experiences and opportunities for community connection.
The program continues Council's strong commitment to delivering inclusive, high‑quality events that bring people together and activate public spaces across the city.
"Our Events Calendar offers something for everyone, helping bring people of all ages together and activating the places we love across our city," Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said.
"I'm proud of the work Council is doing to create inclusive, high-quality events that strengthen our community and celebrate the unique character of Shellharbour."

Carols by Candlelight Returns to Croom
One of Shellharbour's most cherished annual traditions, Carols by Candlelight, will once again light up the Croom Regional Sporting Complex on 4 December 2026. This family‑friendly
festive celebration attracts thousands each year and will continue to feature live performances, carols, food stalls and a warm community atmosphere.
Summer Fun at City Pools
In January, Shellharbour's popular Pool Open Days will return at Warilla, Oak Flats and Albion Park pools offering free access, fun activities and a chance for families to cool off together during the summer holidays.
A Year of Community Connection
- Eats & Beats events at Oak Flats (September) and Albion Park (June 2027)
- Australia Day celebrations, including the Awards ceremony and Breakfast by the Lake
- NAIDOC Community Day (July), Youth Week (April 2027) and Seniors Week (March 2027) activities
- Important commemorations including ANZAC Day and the Cities Service Boston Memorial
Council Explores New Year's Eve Drone Show
A key addition to the events program is the proposed New Year's Eve event at Shell Cove Harbour on 31 December 2026.
Council is actively investigating the feasibility of a New Year's Eve drone show, offering a modern, environmentally sensitive alternative to traditional fireworks.
