Shellharbour City Council is encouraging residents to enjoy the warmer weather safely, with the start of the swim season and beach patrols returning from Saturday 26 September.
Patrols will resume at Shellharbour North Beach and Warilla Central Beach, providing a safer environment for residents and visitors heading to the coast as temperatures continue to rise.
During spring, beach patrols will run from 10am to 5pm, with start times moving from 9.30am to 10am at all patrolled beaches.
Alongside the return of beach patrols, operating hours at Albion Park Pool, Beverley Whitfield Pool and Oak Flats Pool will transition to their spring schedules.
A trial of opening times for Albion Park pool will see the facility operate from 9am to 5pm daily, while Oak Flats pool will operate from 6am to 7pm daily.

Mayor Chris Homer said the start of the patrol season was an important reminder for the community to put water safety first.
"With more people heading to our beaches and pools as the weather warms up, we're pleased to welcome back our lifeguards and seasonal patrols," Mayor Homer said.
"Our beaches and pools are some of Shellharbour's most popular community assets, and we encourage everyone to enjoy them safely by following advice from lifeguards, swimming between the flags and supervising children at all times.
"Shellharbour North Beach also benefits from the NSW Government's shark surveillance drone program, which provides another important tool to help keep beachgoers informed and safe in the water."
Council's Aquatics and Recreation Manager, Graham Suckley said seasonal service changes help ensure facilities are ready to meet increased demand during the warmer months.
"Spring marks the beginning of a busy period across our aquatic facilities," Mr Suckley said.
"Whether you're visiting one of our beaches, training in the pool or enjoying a family swim, we encourage everyone to check opening hours before they visit and be aware of changing conditions."
Beachgoers are reminded to:
- Always swim between the red and yellow flags.
- Read and obey safety signage.
- Never swim alone.
- Supervise children at all times.
- Check weather and ocean conditions before entering the water.
