Shooting incident at Beenleigh, QLD

Detectives are investigating after a man was located with head injuries and a gunshot wound to the leg at Beenleigh this afternoon.

Preliminary information indicate around 4.40pm police and emergency services were called to a Lehmans Road address where the man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was treated before being taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established with detectives, forensic and scientific officers, general duties crews, Dog Squad and Polair attending.

Two men remain on the run and are described as Islander in appearance, aged in their 20s with large builds.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information that can assist their enquiries into the incident to contact them.

Investigations are continuing into the incident.
