At the occasion of a recent bilateral meeting in Amman with ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar (pictured left), the Chief Commissioner of the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, H.E. Captain Haitham Misto (pictured right), expressed the value of Jordan's cooperation with ICAO in terms of the safe, secure, and sustainable development of its aviation sector and air connectivity.
Mr. Salazar expressed his gratitude for Jordan's commitment to international cooperation on air transport matters with and through ICAO, and highlighted ICAO's own commitment to heightening cooperation on aviation matters with Jordan on areas of common interest at the national, regional, and global levels.
Held on 2 March 2023, the meeting bookended the Secretary General's mission to the Middle East, which also encompassed Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. The Secretary General was accompanied throughout this mission by ICAO's Director of the Technical Cooperation Bureau, Mr. Jorge Vargas; ICAO's Regional Director for the Middle East Region, Mr. Mohamed Abu Baker Farea; and ICAO's Aviation Security Officer for the region, Mr. Hussain Qabbani
