Single-vehicle crash in Prairiewood

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a single-vehicle crash in Prairiewood this morning, which has left one man in a critical condition, NSW Police say.

Just after midnight tomorrow, emergency services were called to Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, following reports of a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into the fence of a home, before ending up in the middle of the roadway.

The 33-year-old male driver was trapped in the vehicle for a short amount of time. After being assisted out of the vehicle, he was taken by Ambulance Paramedics to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The 31-year-old female front-seat passenger has been taken to Liverpool Hospital for observation.

Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command attended and commenced investigating the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet come forward, to contact Crime Stopers.
