Bayside Council has accepted a tender from Common Ground Trails Pty Ltd. for the design and construction of a pump track at Sir Joseph Banks Park at Botany.
The pump track will be suitable for all ages and abilities, incorporating varied rollers, berms, jumps, transfer options, skill-level areas, staging platforms and track line marking.
A beginners/junior track will also be included together with an optional gravel skills area with asphalt/concrete jumps.
Council undertook a youth lead engagement program in September and October 2025 to hear from young people and pump track enthusiasts to ensure their voices helped shape the initial design ideas.
There will more opportunity for the community to provide feedback once detailed designs have been completed.
It is anticipated construction of the pump track will start in December 2026 and be completed by the end of April 2027.
Mayor Edward McDougall said:
"This will be Council's first dedicated Pump Track and local BMX lovers, bike riders, skateboarders and scooter fans will have an opportunity to provide feedback on this exciting pump track that is coming to Bayside."
