Sixth man charged over Doonside shooting murder

Detectives investigating the shooting of Craig Anderson in Sydney's west have charged a sixth man over the murder.

About 7.30pm on Monday 27 May 2019, police and emergency services were called to Meridian Place, Doonside, after reports a man had been shot.

On arrival, officers located Craig Anderson, aged 51, with gunshot wounds. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic and ballistics officers.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, with assistance from the Organised Crime Squad and Blacktown Police Area Command, commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting under Strike Force Naradhun.

Five men – aged 22, 28, 44 and two aged 27 – were charged following the murder and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Naradhun detectives arrested a 28-year-old man at Mt Druitt Police Station just after 9.30am today (Friday 19 July 2019).

He was charged with murder and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

Police will allege in court that the man supplied a firearm, however, it was not discharged during the incident.

The Oxley Park man was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Friday 19 July 2019).

Investigations are continuing.
