SLC Distributes £3B in Student Maintenance Payments

The year may have just started, but as always, the early weeks of January are a busy time for SLC.

We've been focused on paying second maintenance instalments to students who started in the autumn, as well as making the first payments to those students whose courses are getting underway in January.

Already this new year, we have paid out £3bn in maintenance loan funding to 3.1 million students, and we expect to pay out around £2.5 billion to universities and colleges in tuition fees in early February.

SLC exists to enable students to invest in their futures through higher and further education, and our colleagues across SLC are looking ahead and focussed on the opening of the 24/25 academic year's application services in the early spring.

For anyone who is thinking about applying for student finance in the 24/25 academic year, we recommend making your student finance application as soon as our service are opens.

Potential students can follow our social media channels for all the latest information on when applications are available: Student Finance England (SFE) on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and Student Finance Wales (SFW) on Facebook and Twitter
