COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,266 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,928 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 90s, a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 273 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 22 people in ICU and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 167 people are fully vaccinated, 43 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 63 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result*.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,031 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 20% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 94.2% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 90.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 58.3% of eligible South Australians and 40.7% of South Australians aged 18+.
