COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,134 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,776 active cases in South Australia.

There are 246 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including five people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 143 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 101 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and two have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found 98.2% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday 5,533 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 13.2% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,169 PCR tests were positive, while 965 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
