COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,193 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 33,892 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 80s and a woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 276 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 37 people in ICU and seven people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 161 people are fully vaccinated, 44 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 71 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 95% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    Yesterday, 1,511,465 check-ins were made using the COVID Safe Check in app.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 12,565 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 14.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 93.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.2% have received their second dose and there were 18,049 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 452,440.
