COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,688 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,353 active cases in South Australia.

There are 109 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 12 people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 53 people are fully vaccinated, 18 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 38 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 10,269 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 9.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,291 PCR tests were positive, while 397 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Latest vaccination numbers from the Commonwealth have not been made available today.
