COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,289 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,041 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two women aged in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 218 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 16 people in ICU and four people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 121 people are fully vaccinated, 33 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 64 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    Yesterday, 8,582 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 9.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

    Latest vaccination numbers from the Commonwealth have not been made available today.
