SPARK - Wyndham City's Innovation Hub is ready for business

Expressions of Interest have now opened for the SPARK - Wyndham City's Innovation Hub located within the East Werribee Employment Precinct at 600 Sneydes Road, Werribee.

The aim of SPARK is to create a vibrant hub where member businesses can be part of a collaborative space that supports and mentors digital, tech start-ups and entrepreneurs, to scale up their concepts and products to commercialisation.

Wyndham City Portfolio holder for Future Focused Economy, Cr Mia Shaw said it was exciting to see the Innovation hub come to fruition.

"Significant work has been undertaken over the last six months to create an environment that fosters entrepreneurship and collaboration. The hub showcases 25 ergonomic workstations, meeting rooms, collaboration, maker and function spaces and a courtyard BBQ area," Cr Shaw said.

"We're committed to fostering a robust local economy and creating local and regional employment opportunities."

"That's why the Innovation hub, a key objective in Wyndham City's Smart City Strategy is such an important initiative."

Businesses who become SPARK members (following a successful EOI process) will have access to business training and mentoring opportunities, relevant state and federal government services, key industry organisations and a dedicated Council officer who will be available to provide support and advice.

"I would encourage business who fit the relevant profile to submit an EOI to become part of this exciting opportunity," Cr Shaw said.

Cr Shaw called on the community to spread the word and reach out to any businesses and entrepreneurs they may know.

Successful applicants are offered a twelve-month member's tenancy period, with an option of a further twelve-month period at the discretion of Council.

The EOI period is open from Monday 24 January 2022 and closes 11:59pm Sunday 13 February 2022.
