The Spirit of Christmas has arrived in the Central Goldfields with the installation of Christmas decorations across the Shire.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor said spreading Christmas cheer, especially after such a challenging year was important to Council.

“I think many of us are really looking forward to catching up with family and friends and enjoying some down-time over the Christmas break.

“This year we’ve been able to invest a little bit extra into our Christmas display – with new, additional decorations being introduced across not only Maryborough but Bealiba, Carisbrook, Dunolly, Majorca and Talbot.

“We hope it brings a little bit of extra cheer to our community this Christmas and we hope everyone has a safe and happy festive season.
